Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to the ENERGY-A-LAB project, a cutting-edge initiative aiming to develop a human-centered autonomous discovery platform for energy materials, with a focus on battery technologies.

The candidate will work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Scientific Machine Learning, and Energy Materials, contributing to the design of self-driving laboratories and no-code autonomous workflows.

with a primary focus on Artificial Intelligence within the field of Agriculture/ Remote sensing (not limited). The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and have the opportunity to contribute to various cutting-edge research areas. Several exciting research topics are proposed (not limited):

  • Computer Vision / Remote Sensing for Agriculture: Explore the application of computer vision and remote sensing techniques to enhance data-driven decision-making, adaptability, and safety within agriculture systems.
  • AI Knowledge for Agriculture: Build LLM and NLP tools, and open-source dataset for agriculture use.

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate is expected to undertake the following responsibilities:

  • Disseminating Results: Publish research findings in reputable scientific journals and present at relevant conferences to contribute to the academic and professional discourse in their respective field.
  • Supervising PhD Students: Collaborate with and provide guidance to doctoral students, assisting them in their research projects and academic pursuits.
  • Research Proposal Preparation: Contribute to the development and preparation of new research proposals, showcasing innovative ideas and projects that align with the research goals of the team. This position is research-focused and does not entail teaching duties. The candidate will have the opportunity to fully dedicate themselves to advancing the state of knowledge in their chosen research area.

Criteria of the candidate:

  • PhD in:
    • Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science
    • or related fields (Computational Physics, Computational Chemistry, Applied Mathematics)
  • Strong publication track record in relevant research areas
  • Core Technical Skills (Computer Science Focus)
    • Strong experience in Machine Learning / Deep Learning
    • Knowledge of:
      • Active learning, Bayesian optimization
      • Reinforcement learning or decision-making systems
    • Experience with:
      • Python ecosystem (PyTorch, Scikit-learn)
    • Data pipelines and scientific data handling
    • Familiarity with:
      • Multi-agent systems or autonomous systems
      • Optimization under constraints
    • Experience in:
      • Knowledge graphs, NLP, or information extraction (a strong plus)
