Engineering Tech Lead Data & AI

PROFILE : 

We are looking for a strong manager with a solid Data & AI background, capable of combining leadership, technical expertise, and team coordination. The ideal candidate demonstrates ownership, autonomy, and the ability to operate in a distributed environment. He/she is comfortable managing local challenges while fostering team cohesion and alignment with international stakeholders. A strong mindset around delivery excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement is expected.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and support ETL/Data Engineering teams in their day-to-day delivery activities
• Act as the main point of contact for Engineering Managers and Tech Leads based in Paris
• Ensure alignment with AFA frameworks, standards, and best practices
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members
• Support teams in resolving delivery challenges and technical blockers
• Contribute to building a strong Data & AI culture within the local team
• Foster team cohesion and a sense of belonging to the France Tech Centre
• Manage local operational challenges related to distributed team setup
• Support sourcing activities and contribute to identifying relevant talents
• Ensure continuous upskilling of the team on tools, frameworks, and methodologies
• Promote delivery excellence and adherence to quality standards

Technical Skills :

Must Have Skills

• Strong experience in Data Engineering and ETL processes
• Solid understanding of Data & AI ecosystems
• Experience with modern data platforms (e.g., Spark, Databricks or equivalent)
• Good knowledge of data pipelines, data transformation, and data integration
• Experience in leading technical teams or acting as a Tech Lead
• Familiarity with agile methodologies and delivery frameworks

Nice to have

• Experience working in international/distributed environments
• Exposure to AI/ML use cases and data-driven applications
• Knowledge of cloud environments (Azure or equivalent)
• Experience with AFA frameworks or similar governance models

Education

• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
• Relevant certifications in Data Engineering, Cloud, or Agile are a plus
